Checking BMW service historyīefore buying a used vehicle, it’s normal to expect to see a record of the maintenance work done on the car through the years. All essential information if you are buying a pre-owned or used car, simply want to do some comparison shopping, or wish to find the right upgrades or parts for your own car.Īs every vehicle has a unique identification number, knowing a BMW’s VIN can be a quick and reliable way of finding out more about the car and its past. You can even use it on certain motor vehicle registries to find out whether the car is considered a salvage (repaired after a major wreck) or is listed as stolen. Each of the 17 digits actually tells you something specific about your car, from when and where it was built to its feature-set. That seemingly random string of numbers printed on your BMW’s dash or on the driver’s side door jamb is more important than you think. There's a lot more that goes into understanding your vehicle.

BTW: I will track Wiis that don't start with LU, but since I don' t have a basis to start on, I need a few people to chime in with them so I can start the list. I’m an idiot for not making notes on all of the Wiis that I have done so far, which is why I need everyone’s help. We just need to find the cutoff point for each LU#.

The second number starts the serial of that series, which is why some people are saying that smaller serial numbers do not work while larger ones do. I believe the first number happens to be where the Wii was made (or something like that). Many launch Wiis seem to have LU100XXXXXX-LU102XXXXXX, but within a few weeks came LU300XXXXXX and LU500XXXXXX. Here's how I know there is a correlation: (I have only worked with US Wiis so this is all LU information). I need help from people who have installed Bootmii, to give the first 7 characters of their serial number and whether Bootmii's boot2 worked or didn't work. I've been repairing/moding Wiis for a while and there IS a correlation, I just haven't got the specifics yet.

I have heard a bunch of people saying that there is NO correlation between the Wii Serial Numbers and the version of Boot1 on the Wii causing Bootmii's Boot2 to work or not work.
